Dive for a Cure 2009

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you know someone who has battled breast cancer or not, the numbers are startling: one in eight women (and one in a thousand men) will be diagnosed with breast cancer and of those, 23% will not survive.

I am proud to say that several incredible women I know ran Dive for a Cure last year and are about to host the 2009 Dive for a Cure event on October 10th in Florence, OR. If you’re like me and can’t attend, there are still ways to get involved with the 2009 Dive for a Cure event.

Dive for a Cure has a great Facebook community as well, complete with event updates, photos and videos from last year.

This is a great cause, a wonderful group of people and something we all need to be aware of.
